Passio Domini

Jesus did not save us primarily through His miracles or exorcisms, nor even through His powerful sermons, but through His suffering and death in obedience to the Father. In this way He reveals all the power of God’s redemptive love. Our Savior intentionally entered into His Passion out of love for us, to give us the decisive proof of His Love, to make reparation for our sins, and to lead into unity those who had been scattered abroad (cf. Jn 11:52

The contemplation of the Passion of Christ is the most fruitful and the most beneficial devotion, because it reveals to us, as no other, the depth of God’s love and urges us to follow in His footsteps.

Jesus’ Passion is the perfect model of Christian love, obedience, humility, patience as well as readiness to offer sacrifices. In this way, it becomes a wellspring of wisdom, grace and strength for a deeper conversion of our own hearts. When we reflect on how much our Savior suffered out of love for us, it leads us to a profound contrition for our sins and strengthens us to courageously embrace our sufferings and crosses out of love for God.

The contemplation of Jesus’ suffering draws us into His redeeming love and His great longing to make expiation for the salvation of souls. We wish to quench JESUS´ thirst for souls.

By “Passio Domini” we mean the time of the most holy suffering of our Redeemer, in particular the commemoration of His agony on the Mount of Olives every Thursday evening (9 pm to midnight) and His suffering and death on the Cross (noon to 3pm) every Friday afternoon. With heartfelt compassion and love, we unite ourselves with the suffering and death of Jesus during this time. Out of love we want to be near our Lord precisely in the hours of His Passion, following His Call: “Remain with me and keep watch with Me” – Mt 26,38 and answering His longing “I thirst” – Jn 19,28.
